Symposium 2007:
Getting here
In Hong Kong, from the International Airport to Macau: 3 ways
- The most convenient way to reach Macau, schedule permitting, is to take the special airport turbojet ferry service directly from Hong Kong International Airport to the Macau Ferry Terminal. It is recommended that you call them for the most up-to-date schedule. The infomation is available at http://www.turbojetseaexpress.com.hk. If you plan to use this service, do not go through Hong Kong Immigration. Contact the Help Desk near your gate of arrival and they will assist you in re-claiming your baggage without proceeding through passport control and customs.
- If the above turbojet timetable does not match the time of your arrival, the second option is by taking the City Bus (Number A11). The ride costs around HK$40 and takes less than one hour, depending on traffic conditions. Its route includes a stop right outside of Sheung Wan ( 上環 ) Shun Tak Centre, where the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal locates. Please refer to this link for more information: http://www.citybus.com.hk/eng/main.asp. You have to get off the bus at stop # 4.
- The third way to reach the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal from the airport is to take the Airport Express train, which leaves every 12 minutes from the airport. It will take less than half an hour to reach Hong Kong Station. A return (roundtrip) ticket costs approximately HK$180 and is valid for one month. Taxis are available at Hong Kong Station for the short ride to the Hong Kong–Macau Ferry Terminal. For those interested in a superb view of Victoria Harbour, the Hong Kong–Macau Ferry Terminal can also be reached on foot by walking across the above-ground “flyover” from the “Two International Finance Centre” (Two ifc), directly above Hong Kong Station.

In Macau, from the Ferry Terminal, the Macau International Airport, and Zhuhai-Macau Barrier Gate to different locations:
Taxis in Macau are relatively cheap, and are accustomed to short-distance trip. HK$ currency is accepted. Below is a small map of Macau indicating the venue of the symposium - Institute for Tourism Studies.
